Devizes boss Shaun Moffat is predicting his side will come out on top against Brislington on Saturday– as long as he can find someone to play between the posts.
Town are in the midst of a goalkeeping crisis with Craig Campbell ruled out after suffering a dislocated knuckle while legendary stopper Paul Thompson is currently playing for Cirencester Town.
The situation leaves the manager but with no option but to risk Jez Hare, himself on the road to recovery from injury, but believes a win for his side could be the beginning of a resurgent run.
“Craig is out for at least a couple of weeks but Jez is back in training so will have to play,” said Moffat.
“A win would take us above them in the league and I’m fairly confident we can do it.
“The Boxing Day game ay Melksham was a bit of a non-starter but Saturday is a new day, a new year and a chance for us to kick-start 2009.”
Rob Drown is a doubt for the game after picking up a knee injury while the influential Steve Campbell is also rated at just 50/50 with a long-standing injury that can flare up on short notice.
Livewire wingers Danny Young and Kieran Baggs should feature but Moffat was critical of the latter for declaring himself fit to play against Melksham when clearly still feeling the effects on a previously picked up knock.
