MALMESBURY boss Ken Regan felt his side under-estimated Lydney after the Vics’ four-match winning run came to an end on Saturday.
Chris Oke’s spectacular late equaliser salvaged a point for Malmesbury, after Lydney had taken a 70th minute lead.
And Regan said: “We turned in a very poor first half performance.
“I think the lads slightly underestimated them and we were lucky to still be level at the break.
“We improved massively after half-time and if we had played the full 90 minutes like that we probably would have won.
“I would still say it’s two points lost but the unbeaten run continues. The lads deserve credit for not laying down and every man stood up to be counted in the second half.”
Lydney took the lead against the run of play in the 70th minute but Malmesbury kept piling forward.
The hosts were rewarded five minutes later when Oke produced a piece of magic to equalise.
Oke collected and controlled the ball with his back to goal before swivilling and scoring from 30 yards.
