Two local rivals clash this weekend when in-form Melksham host Calne Town with visiting striker Glenn Armstrong hoping to banish the last meeting between the sides from his memory.
Calne slipped to a 2-0 home defeat when the pair squared off at the end of September and the talented forward, who has seven goals already this season, hopes they can repay the favour tomorrow.
“They turned us over before so we’ve got to put one over them now,” he said.
“We’ve got a brilliant team here and have never been outplayed in the league this season.
“They’re towards the top of the table and that’s where we want to be. If we can win our games in hand then we’ll be up there but we need to start with a win at Melksham.”
The hosts go into the game in good form and currently sit fourth in the table having won seven out of their last nine league games.
They are currently six points behind leaders Dawlish Town but have crucially played two games less.
“We’re not doing too badly at the moment,” said central defender Ryan Trowbridge.
“We’re just being solid and grinding results out. Natty Auckland up front is doing a good job holding the ball up for us and every time we play it into his feet it seems to stick there.”
“We’ve got a couple of games in hand and it’s really tight at the top, but a win tomorrow will keep us ticking along nicely.”
