Football: Melksham Town carried their super league form into the FA Vase Trophy with a workmanlike 2-0 victory at Amesbury Town.
Midfielder Kris Beasley, who joined the club from Devizes Town during the summer, celebrated his second full start after recovering from a broken leg, with his first goal of the season.
Beasley said: "I'm happy to get on the scoresheet but as long as the team is winning then I'm happy.
"I scored ten goals last season so I would like to think I'd be able to reach double figures again this year.
"I'm pleased to get 90 minutes under my belt and get back to playing football after being out for the end of last season."
The attacking midfielder was also encouraged to see Melksham's solid run of form continue into the cup competitions.
He said: "That is now six games in a row we haven't lost.
"It was a bit of a scrappy game but it was a solid performance.
"It wasn't too pretty but it was enough for the win. In the end out superior fitness shone through.
"Amesbury were quite physical but once we got the first goal and kept up our workrate we had the upper hand."
Beasley netted the first goal after good work from Nathan Flower down the right flank.
Flower crossed the ball into the box and Beasley converted from close range.
The second was scored by winger Matt Auckland who headed home after another cross from Flower.
Melksham now play New Milton Town of the Wessex League in the next round after they beat Highworth Town 2-1.
Beasley says is enjoying life at the Conigre and has no regrets about leaving struggling Devizes in the summer.
He said: "Devizes is a very friendly club, I really enjoyed my time there.
"But when Wayne Thorne talked to me about joining Melksham his ambition matched mine.
"It has been a good move for me.
"Devizes just need a bit of stability."
