Banbury United Reserves 0, Pewsey Vale 2

Football: Following the midweek 1-0 win over Malmesbury Vics, the Vale put in another good performance,at Banbury on saturday with this 2-0 win, keeping their third clean sheet on the run.

Pewsey had a good chance on the 18th minute to open up the lead, when,a through ball was left by Craig Wall to run to Nick Woodward who took up the challenge,but with only the keeper to beat,shot wide.

Banbury struggled at time to clear their goal area,and the Vale had the edge our their hosts in the first half.

Tom Ritchie was unlucky not to send the Vale into the break in the lead,Ritchie saw the home keeper Joe Murrell just off his line,but he chipped over the keeper and cross bar.

Then at the other end Jacob Goddard gave the Vale a shock,but he looped his shot wide.

Pewsey brought on Luke Sharp for Liam Edmonson,at the start of the second half.

A corner by Tom Ritchie on the 53rd minute brought the Vale's first goal, Ritchie's corner kick was headed on by Richie Carter for Wall to fire home.

The Vale lost midfielder Ryan Banks through injury,on 55 minutes with Danny Hogan coming on as his replacment.

On the hour Wall was off target shooting wide again,but then the Vale doubled their score when on the 63rd minute, Woodward sent Murrell the wrong way.

Banbury tried to get back in the game,but the Vale's defence held firm,a break out on the 75th minute,by James Peppiatt saw the Vale keeper Stewart Thompson make a great save diving to his left to turn the powerfull shot away for a corner.

As Banbury searched for the consulation goal ,the Vale brought on the Veteran and Assitant Manager Daren Tapper for the fnal minutes.
