Wiltshire County Womens and Girls Football League: Under 16: Devizes Town Youth kept up their unbeaten start to the season with an 8-0 thumping of their closest rivals Chippenham Town Ladies to open up a 7 point gap at the top of the table. Meanwhile Wootton Bassett and Swindon Town met at Ballards Ash with both teams still looking for their first win of the season. The home team though were successful at the fourth attempt with a hard fought 3-2 victory, goals coming from Joni Warner, Jenna McFadzean and Alyson-Jane Lyons.
Under 14 11-a-side With Derry Hill Thunder having to call of their game with Swindon Badgers due to school commitments the opportunity was given to FC Chippenham to draw level at the top of the table, and they duly took the chance at Stanley Park with an emphatic 11-0 victory over Wootton Bassett. In the other match, also at Stanley Park, visitors Swindon Town Ladies eased to a 4-1 victory over hosts Chippenham Town Ladies.
Under 14 7-a-side Both the matches in this division were unfortunately postponed.
Under 13 Bradford Town Youth hosted visitors Swindon Spitfires, with both teams looking for their second win of the season. A close match ensued but it was the visitors from Swindon who returned with the 3 points to move into 3rd place.
Under 12 A Division Swindon Spitfires Blues racked up 13 against their hosts Trowbridge Wanderers at Paxcroft Mead, though Wanderers did manage a consolation goal.
The win moves Spitfires 4 points clear. Melksham Town Youth moved to within touching distance of the chasing pack with 8 unanswered goals against bottom side Wootton Bassett at Ballards Ash.
Under 12 B Division Runaway leaders Larkhall Athletic extended their unbeaten start to the season and extended their lead at the top of the table to 8 points with a 6-0 victory over 3rd-placed Trowbridge Wanderers B.
Under 11 Division Likewise in the Under-11 Division Trowbridge Town Youth made it 5 wins from 5 and now have a 7 point lead over Highworth Town after knocking 8 past FC Chippenham Youth. Swindon Spitfires Reds inflicted a first defeat of the season on Highworth Town and in so doing moved to within a point of Highworth with a game in hand. Goals from Chloe Wills, Hannah Donovan and Lily Humphreys earned the 3 points for the Spitfires.
Under 10 Division Melksham Town Youth's winning start to the season came to an end at South Marston against Swindon Spitfires with neither team able to break the deadlock in a goalless draw. Melksham's lead at the top was cut to 4 points by Swindon Town Reds who beat their club compatriots Blues by 3-1.
Note, no scheduled matches again next week due to Wilts FA Centre of Excellence fixtures.
