MELKSHAM Town Reserves booked their place in the Knockout Cup semi-finals with a resounding 5-2 win over Pewsey Vale Development on Saturday afternoon.

Callum Demkiv’s brace, plus strikes from Alex Churchyard, Seth Wain a own goal saw them comfortably through, they will now face Bremhill for a shot at the final.

Despite stepping away from the Wiltshire League Premier Division, Melksham’s stranglehold on top spot remained as they sit 10 points clear of Cricklade Town, who are in second.

Cricklade also failed to gain any ground on the league leaders, as they were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw away at Westbury United Reserves.

Wroughton and Kintbury battled it out but ultimately could not be separated, as they drew 2-2 at the Weir Field after an eventful opening 45 minutes.

The village side fell behind early on before Tom Dingle equalised. Kintbury then got their noses ahead for a second time, before Jordan Lee slotted home to level to snatch a draw.

Neither team were able to snatch all three points, as it remained goalless in the second half.

Trowbridge Town and Corsham Town also drew 2-2, while Purton made full use of home advantage as they were 4-1 winners over Shrewton United.

Christopher Avery got on the score sheet, along with Sam English, Steve Keir and William Blackhouse, who also notched.

Ludgershall Sports were unable to break their four-game losing streak, as they made it five without a win at the weekend.

After losing 11-0 last time out, they were much closer this time around as they lost 2-1 to Bremhill.
