CHIPPENHAM Park manager Tim Smith admits he has one eye on next season after his troops recorded a four-point haul over the Easter weekend.

Good Friday truly was a good Friday for Park, as they picked up a 3-2 win away to Calne Town before recording a 0-0 draw at home to Bishops Lydeard on Easter Monday.

Jamal Chevolleau, Matthew Mead and Jamie Norman were on target for Chippenham, while Stuart Windsor and William Boakes notched for Calne.

“I am disappointed with the result on Monday, we should have won based on the overall possession we had but we are happy to keep our unbeaten run going,” he said.

“The season has not gone as well as we hoped but we have begun to think about next year, ideally, we can bring in some good youngsters to bolster the squad.”

Corsham Town slipped to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Devizes Town on Good Friday, Joe King’s effort was not enough to cancel out goals from Joshua Bingham, Ashley Lock and Matthew Russell.

Malmesbury Victoria were without a fixture over the weekend as their Easter Monday clash with Sherborne Town was called off, bringing them in line with the other local sides, who also had their games cancelled.

Elsewhere, Royal Wootton Bassett Town let a 1-0 lead slip in the Hellenic League Premier Division as they lost 3-1 to Bracknell Town on Saturday afternoon.

Veteran striker Steve Yeardley handed the visitors the lead from the spot before Bracknell hit back to ensure all three points remained in Berkshire.

In Division One West, Pewsey Vale were denied the chance to build on their 6-0 win in their last outing as the weather saw both of their Easter fixtures cancelled.

Allistair Tuttle’s side were due to face Kidlington Reserves and Cheltenham Saracens.
