HOLT’S 3-1 victory over Greyhound edged Dan Mercer’s side closer to winning the title, which they will secure if they can claim five points from their remaining three games.

With their pitch at Clarendon Academy unplayable, the match was switched to Holt where Darren Brewer deservedly put Greyhound in front on 20 minutes.

Jack Parker levelled matters and Carl Davies gave Holt the second-half lead.

The villagers sealed their success when Ben Alexander slotted home from the penalty spot following a foul on Jiordan Burrell-Mendi.

Heytesbury moved into second place after they saw off fellow promotion hopefuls Zeals, opening up a three-goal lead in the opening 15 minutes on their way to a 7-1 success.

Zeals were trailing after just 12 seconds when Jamie Howse crossed for Craig Sheppard to open the scoring.

Sheppard turned provider for Charlie Waylen who fired home from 20 yards to double the lead on eight minutes and it was 3-0 in the 15th minute when Sheppard headed home his second.

Ik Ichiebuka pulled a goal back for Zeals on the half-hour mark but Sheppard completed his hat-trick in the 49th minute when he scored from the penalty spot after Wayne Marchmont had been upended.

Sheppard set up Jamie Howse for the next two before Waylen's superb second wrapped up the points.
