DEVIZES Town delivered a fine result in the first round of the Toolstation League's Les Phillips Cup as they sent hosts and one-time First Division Bristol Telephones packing 3-1 on Saturday.

The Nursteed Road side earned the spoils as Jack Hopper scored twice and Rory Collins also netted.

The home side were on the back of an 11-match streak without a win and had been hammered 5-1 at home by Cheddar only two weeks earlier, but prevailed as skipper Kevin Shinn and Reece Collyer, with a stunning lob from the halfway line, netted.

Two Matty Mead goals helped Chippenham Park stun hosts Oldland Abbotonians and Premier Division Melksham are progressed past Odd Down by the same 2-0 score as Mike Perrott and Joe Stradling scored in Bath.

But Corsham Town are out, beaten 2-0 at Premier Division title challengers Buckland Athletic, while First Division leaders Westbury United lost 4-0 at Wellington.

In First Division action, Calne Town were 4-3 winners over Radstock Town, courtesy of strikes from Alex Lewis, Rory Worthington, Max Wyatt and Billy Gleed.

Malmesbury Victoria goalkeeper Adam Clatworthy was on target in their 3-3 draw with Keynsham Town as his long punt upfield caught out the visiting defence.

Jamie Packer and Matty Jenkins also netted for the hosts.

In the Hellenic League Premier Division, Steve Robertson haunted his former club Royal Wootton Bassett Town as he bagged a second-half hat-trick for Wantage Town in their 3-0 home win.
