BRADFORD Town and Melksham Town progressed into the third round of the FA Vase with impressive victories on Saturday.

Melksham booked their spot in the next round following an impressive 4-1 away to Hellenic League side Wantage Town.

Goals from Jake Brown and Warren Maidment handed the visitors a 2-1 lead at the interval before Brown went on to complete his hat-trick in the second half.

Meanwhile Bradford clinched an eye-catching 2-1 victory away to Buckland Athletic, their second win there this season.

Manager Danny Greaves saw his troops take the lead with 49 minutes on the clock as Will Hailston prodded home after Mark Lenihan’s effort crashed against the crossbar.

Sam Jordan doubled up for the visitors with just over 10 minutes to go, before the Bobcats survived a scare late on after conceding.

In the Toolstation League First Division, leaders Westbury United returned to winning ways with a 2-0 success at home to Ashton & Blackwell.

After a goalless first half, Dan Kovacs stepped up and bagged two goals in two minutes to seal a win for the home side.

Devizes Town lost their unbeaten home record as they were edged out by Malmesbury Victoria, who claimed a 3-2 win thanks to goals from Tyler Quinnell, Jamie Packer and Sam Ockwell. Tom Slater's double was not enough for the home side at Nursteed Road.

Chippenham Park were forced to settle for a point after drawing 1-1 away to Roman Glass St George.

Charlie Norman had given Park the lead, before they conceded a penalty and equaliser in the 94th minute.

Corsham Town were unable to build on their previous win as they were beaten 2-0 by Radstock Town.

Warminster Town’s winless run has reached it’s 12th game after they slipped to a 1-0 defeat away to Bishops Lydeard.

In the Hellenic League Division One West, Pewsey Vale registered a 3-2 away win over Woodstock Town, their goals coming from Harrison Lowe, Liam Edmondson and James Blake.

Hellenic League Premier side Royal Wootton Bassett were due to travel to Horndean in the FA Vase, but their cup tie was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
