CRICKLADE Town surrendered their unbeaten record on Tuesday night after going down 4-1 at Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development.

That result has allowed Westbury United Reserves to climb back to the top of the table despite collecting just two points over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Cricklade’s 3-2 win at home to Melksham Town Reserves on Saturday, coupled with a 1-1 draw for Westbury against visiting Corsham Town Reserves, saw the two teams move level on points at the summit.

However, another draw for Westbury in midweek – a 2-2 away at Trowbridge Town – has since seen them edge one point clear.

Corsham are the only side still to boast an unbeaten record, having also claimed a 2-0 success at Bremhill on Tuesday night.

No team won both games over the Bank Holiday, although Shrewton United came as close as anyone after netting eight goals. Firstly, they won 5-0 at Bassett Bulldogs and followed it up with a 3-3 draw on the road at Ludgershall Sports.

There were also four points for Wroughton as they edged to a 2-1 success at Kintbury Rangers on Saturday before being involved in another 3-3 thriller at Marlborough Town.

That haul was also collected by Trowbridge Town, who had thumped Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development 4-0 prior to their draw with Westbury.

Devizes Town were the other team to triumph on Saturday after beating Bremhill 3-2, although they were then on the receiving end of a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Melksham Town Reserves on Tuesday.

Kintbury Rangers and Purton were also victorious in midweek, beating Pewsey Vale Development 3-0 and Malmesbury Victoria Development 3-2 respectively.

Malmesbury remain the only side in the division without a point this term.
