BRETT Partner is pleased with the way Chippenham Park are shaping up in the Toolstation League First Division after they secured their third win of the season with a 2-1 triumph over Oldland Abbotonians on Tuesday.

Park had been without a win in their previous two matches, including a 1-1 draw at Wincanton Town on Saturday, but goals from Charlie Norman and Harry Myles secured the points in midweek at Hardenhuish Park.

"The teams we've played have been very good sides so it's been quite hard but we played some of our best football of the season (against Oldland),'' said Partner.

"Anyone can beat anyone in this division this year and our ambition is to win the league, so to get another win on the board was good.

"We haven't got a budget like other teams so attracting players is hard but I'm pleased with the squad we've got.''

Jamie Harrison secured his first win as Corsham Town manager after the Southbank side clinched a 1-0 success against Ashton & Backwell United on Saturday.

Harrison’s team had suffered a difficult start to the campaign, losing their first three matches, including a 7-0 hammering at Oldland Abbotonians, but stopped the rot with their first three-pointer on Saturday as Leigh Rogers’ penalty shortly before the 70-minute mark earned them the spoils.

Malmesbury Victoria made it three wins on the trot as they followed up Saturday's 1-0 win over Chard Town with a 3-1 triumph at Bishop Sutton on Tuesday.

Shane Bumphrey, Ant Brown and Joe Tranter netted for Kev Bridgeman's men, who have recovered after a winless first three matches of the campaign.

Devizes Town bounced back from their weekend humbling by Almondsbury as they put Ashton & Backwell to the sword at Nursteed Road on Tuesday night.

Town were on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline in Bristol at the weekend, Jay Walters on target, but Darran Walters' outfit recovered to record a second win of the season in midweek.

Cullen Wylie, Rob Mitchell and Jack Hopper found the target for the home side, who moved into the top half of the table.

The news was less good for Calne Town, who were walloped 7-2 at home by Roman Glass St George on Tuesday.

Billy Gleed and Stuart Windsor were on target for the Bremhill View side, with Gleed also netting in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Radstock Town.
