THANKS to Jonathan Obika’s last-minute strike and another man of the match performance from Lawrence Vigouroux, Swindon Town kept their hopes of survival alive with just four games left in this nightmare season.

I’d say confidently that this campaign won’t be looked back on at all by Town fans, but out of the handful of good moments, the performances of Vigouroux will be at the very top of the list.

I’ll happily admit I didn’t think we should’ve signed the former Liverpool keeper at the end of last season, as he came across as erratic and unreliable between the sticks over his loan spell, but thankfully, he has come good.

It’s been a great piece of business for the club, as he’s improved vastly from this point last year thanks to his hard work over the season, and it’s shown in his performances.

He’s been the most consistent performer out of anyone at the club, meaning it’s more than likely he’ll be picked up by a Championship side during the summer regardless of which division Swindon are in next season. Let’s just hope he’s not undervalued like so many former Town players who’ve left for a low price.

Despite not hitting the five-figure attendance I thought the club would achieve last Saturday, the campaigns set up by the club and the Swindon Advertiser were both very successful in improving the atmosphere at the ground.

Let’s hope that continues tomorrow as Town face another tough test against overachieving AFC Wimbledon at the County Ground.

It’s pointless to say this game is a must-win as it’s obvious Town need the maximum six points from both remaining home games to stay up, but out of the two, this is the most winnable, as play-off bound Scunthorpe United are the visitors to SN1.

We all know the significance of this game. A win, and we carry on fighting at Walsall on Monday, but a defeat could realistically be the end of the road if results don’t go our way.
