CALNE Eagles remain on course to top Group A of the Gooding Accounts-sponsored Division Two Cup.
Roy Wenham’s side made it five wins on the bounce after they beat Warminster Town A, whose hopes of a top-two placing disappeared after their 8-0 defeat.
Both Adam Welch and Mickey Taraskevics scored three apiece. Karl Sharratt and Will Gale added the others.
A 2-0 victory for Trowbridge Town A over The Stiffs, coupled with Warminster Town A’s defeat at Calne Eagles means that Bob Arberry’s side a certain to finish in the top two in Group A, earning them a place in the last four.
Tom Caldicott’s crisp finish put Trowbridge 1-0 up at the break and Kyle Morgan-Hemmens finish from a Matt Morgan cross in the second half sealed victory for Arberry’s men.
Aces FC booked their place in the semi-finals of the competition after they defeated closest challengers Zeals FC 5-1.
The victory means that Aces have 16 points and top the table for the time being, and safe in the knowledge that they can’t be denied a top two finish in Group B.
Andy Rhead, Ben Reed, Jason Wilcox and Aziz Uddin’s double made up Aces' five, Aaron Carter replied for Zeals.
