THIS is why we love football, after losing to Bradford a few weeks ago Swindon looked dead and buried, lacking the fight and quality needed to pull themselves out of trouble.

But as Town fans, we should’ve known it wasn’t going to be a predictable end to the campaign as Swindon went and beat Millwall and Fleetwood.

But with those unexpected results, do Swindon have any real chance of survival?

Or is this all-false hope?

The answer will be much clearer at 5pm on Saturday as Town face MK Dons at the County Ground.

It’s simply the most important fixture hosted at the County Ground in many years.

The entire stadium needs to be bouncing for 90 minutes, getting behind the side and putting any thoughts of the club's ownership to one side.

Like many people, I have concerns and serious doubts over the way our club has been handled the last couple of years, but this Saturday and the next few weeks isn’t the time for protesting, we need to get behind the team - even if we go behind.

It’s great to see the club, Trust STFC and the Gazette’s sister paper, the Swindon Advertiser, all working together to pack the the County Ground this weekend - the club have also reduced ticket prices for this crucial game to just £15.

Football is all about opinions, and being Town fans, we all have our own views on the manager, players, the owner, who’s the best player, who’s the worst, who was better? Austin or Shearer? Harland or Calderwood? Digby or Foderingham? Hoddle or Hewlett?

But one thing we can all agree on, no-one wants to see Swindon Town in League Two next season, and after the past couple of weeks, we now have a chance of escaping the bottom four.

I implore all Town fans to unite this Saturday and help Luke Williams’ side to another massive three points, and be a part of this ultimate great escape.
