A 4-1 VICTORY for Trowbridge Town Reserves at home to bottom of the table Heytesbury means they will be playing Division One football next season.

Their opponents will need to beat Stockton and Codford in at least one of their two remaining fixtures to have any chance of beating the drop.

Simon Parfitt’s 35th-minute goal for Trowbridge separated the teams at half-time. Parfitt doubled his and Town’s tally on 55 minutes and Jason Truckle made it 3-0 in the 70th minute.

Trowbridge captain Levi Wood wrapped up the victory with his first goal for the club in the 80th minute.

Jamie Howse replied for Heytesbury, four minutes from time.

Freshford United opened up a nine-point lead on Luxol St Andrews in their battle to finish as runners up to Melksham Town A.

A 5-0 victory for Chris Birleson’s side over Semington Magpies means that for the time being they have the upper hand over a Luxol side who could claw back the deficit as they have four games in hand on the villagers.

Dave Percival scored both goals in the first half that gave Freshford a 2-0 lead at the break, his first coming from the penalty spot and his second from a Weleed Bakali assist.

Bakali then made it 3-0 after being set up by Theo Sing and Percival completed his hat-trick when he followed to knock the ball home after he had a penalty saved by the Magpies keeper.

Fynn McCarthy-Driver added number five after he was set up by Dean Ranger.

Stockton & Codford and opponents Westbury Town had to settle for a share of the spoils after they fought out a 1-1 draw.

Stockton took the lead courtesy of a Joe Martin goal, but the points were shared when Nathan Hallett bagged Westbury’s first-half equaliser.
