AYSA Corrick got all the goals as Highworth Town took the Boxing Day bragging rights in Hellenic League Premier Division with a crushing 4-0 win away at Royal Wootton Bassett Town.

Corrick struck twice in each half for Jeff Roberts’ side at the Gerrard Buxton Sports Ground as the Worthians kept themselves in the top five in the table.

Corrick gave the visitors the lead from the penalty spot and put his side two goals to the good at the break with a fine solo effort.

The one-man show continued in the second period as Corrick completed his treble with an excellent strike from distance and the Worthians’ ace then showed his poacher’s instict to complete the misery for Rich Hunter’s Bassett, tapping home after an initial effort had come back off the post.

In Division One West, Purton were stunned by visiting New College as they claimed just a third league win of the season with a 4-0 success at the Red House.

The result sees Matt Cosnett’s men put six points between themselves and bottom-of-the-table Woodstock Town.

Second-placed Fairford Town are away at Letcombe tomorrow, while Shrivenham are without a festive fixture.
