WHEN Warminster Town A and Aces met earlier in the season it was the former who came out on top, winning 8-6.

So when the teams met at the weekend it was little surprise that the Division Two game produced another goal-fest which this time saw Aces edge a seven-goal thriller as they won 4-3.

Aces led 2-0 through a Dan Hatcher penalty and a Dave Watkins own goal before Liam Gibbens got Warminster back in the game prior to half time.

Within a minute of the restart Adam Clark got Aces back on level terms.

Aces reclaimed the lead via Dave Gaskin and a second from Gaskin put Aces 4-2 ahead.

Thomas McFerran gave Warminster a lifeline but they were unable to grab a fourth as Aces held on to avenge their earlier loss.

As has happened a few times this season, playing a higher placed team seems to bring the best out of The Stiffs and once again Ade Giles' side proved that they can compete with the best as they held promotion hopefuls Trowbridge Town A to a 1-1 draw at the interval before going on to suffer a 4-1 defeat.

Tom Caldicott’s opener for Trowbridge was cancelled out by Jamie Ford’s effort for the Stiffs and it was only a second-half reshuffle by Town manager Bob Arberry that saw his team prevail.

Toby Clarke regained the lead for Trowbridge, Mike Ritson’s excellent finish into the top corner made it 3-1 and Dean Gumm’s tap in completed the win.

A workmanlike performance from Three Daggers saw them claim a 4-2 triumph over a battling Melksham Town B side.

Jake Packer’s deflected effort from a Joe Moloney shot put Daggers’ ahead, Sam Robinson levelled matters for Melksham who then trailed 3-1 to goals from Ryan Underwood and Kane Scott.

Patrick Kapelka halved the deficit for Melksham before Shaun Sheppard wrapped up victory for Three Daggers with a delightful finish to make it 4-2.

Calne Eagles remain in third spot and continue to be serious title contenders following their 4-0 win at Trowbridge Wanderers Development.

Shaun Jefferies, who was only playing as top scorer Mickey Taraskevics was unavailable, scored all four goals.

Four goals in each half saw Bradford Town Youth defeat Zeals 8-0.

Bradford started well and were 4-0 up inside 20 minutes, Chris Office scoring all four, one of which was a superb effort that saw him beat four players before rounding the keeper and tucking the ball away.

A second-half double for Dylan Hatt and a goal each from Scott Baker and Ciaran Taylor made up Bradford’s eight.
