MELKSHAM Town returned to second spot in the Toolstation League Premier Division as they put Bitton to the sword 2-0 on Saturday.

Goals from Luke Ballinger and Gary Higdon were enough for Darren Perrin's men to leapfrog Street, who drew 1-1 at Gillingham Town, in behind leaders Bristol Manor Farm.

Melksham, who also had Dave Thompson sent off, have a game in hand on Farm with the season having just gone past its midway point.

Bradford Town clinched their third 2-0 victory on the trot - and their sixth in a row in all competitions - as they defeated Shepton Mallet.

Martin Lenihan opened the scoring for Danny Greaves' side in the dying stages of the first half before Leon Greenland wrapped up the result midway through the second half to send Bradford up to fifth in the table.

In the First Division, Devizes Town lost 2-0 at home for the second week in succession as they were beaten by Portishead Town, for whom William Manning and Oliver Trevarthen netted.

Corsham Town are now without a win in six matches after they were felled 3-0 by Wellington, Ian Bellinger, Jack Bryant and Scott Drayton doing the damage.

Chippenham Park's freefall continued, the Hardenhuish Park side now being without a win since early October after they were dumped 3-0 at Bishops Lydeard.

Joseph Chamberlain scored twice for the home side and James Quick was also on target.

There was also no joy for Calne Town, who fell to a 3-0 reverse at Radstock Town, as did Warminster Town at Bishoip Sutton.

Lifting the gloom were Malmesbury Victoria, who claimed a 1-0 success at Hengrove Athletic, while Westbury United drew 1-1 at Roman Glass St George.
