IT WAS second versus fifth at Woodmarsh where Bob Arberry’s Trowbridge Town A hosted a Warminster Town A looking to build on last week’s outstanding Division Two success over Bradford Town Youth.

However Rob McFarran’s men were unable to repeat that success, and for a second time this season, Arberry’s men took the points thanks to another 2-1 win.

After a goalless first half it was Trowbridge who broke the deadlock through Kyle Morgan-Hemmens.

Liam Gibbens had the chance to get Warminster back on level terms midway through the half but saw his penalty saved by Luke Taylor.

With 10 minutes remaining Justin Tugwell restored parity for Warminster which left both teams going for the victory and it was the skills from Kieran Green that saw him beat a couple of players before netting the eventual winner for Trowbridge on 87 minutes in what was an entertaining contest.

Calne Eagles kept up their unbeaten start to their league campaign with a 4-0 win over against Aces FC.

Calne had the upper hand throughout the first half and opened the scoring after 16 minutes when Will Gale fired home a loose ball from just inside the box after Aces had failed to clear a Danny Heap cross.

Mickey Taraskevics also added a second for Calne after 28 minutes when he cleverly beat the offside trap before coolly finishing past Aces’ keeper James Moody.

In the second half Calne remained on top. However, Aces were dogged in defence and Calne found it really difficult to create clear cut openings.

However, Eagles midfielder Danny Heap was having a particularly unlucky day in front of goal as he struck the woodwork three times during the match.

In the last 25 minutes Calne finished the game off with two more goals. Taraskevics scored his 20th goal of the season when he finished a superb cross from Karl Sharratt.

Will Gale also scored his second with a thunderous shot. Calne also created numerous good chances in the closing stages.

Shaun Jefferies, who was playing his first game for Calne in over three years, was denied by keeper James Moody. Calne winger Jake Goodwin also fired two shots wide, but the score remained at 4-0.

Division Two pacesetters Three Daggers stretched their unbeaten league run to eight matches, courtesy of a 4-2 triumph over Melksham Town B at Shaw.

Melksham came out all guns blazing as they took the game to the leaders. With tackles flying in, Three Daggers kept their head and controlled the play creating a number of chances with the opening goal coming from Kane Scott's header into the top corner of the net from 18 yards.

Melksham had their chances but it was Daggers feeling frustrated at half time for not putting away the chances and killing the game off.

The second half was a different matter as Melksham went 2-1 up with Sam Robinson and Dan Walker’s goal catching Daggers on the break.

Daggers continued the press and substitute Phil Hampson assisted Adam Bishop who bundled it in off his shoulder from close range to level up at 2-2.

At that point Daggers were well on top and Joe Moloney put 3-2 ahead with a heavily deflected effort which was well deserved.

Moments later Hampson and Ryan Underwood linked up well with the latter crossing to Hampson who finished well to seal the win.

Two defeats on the spin had saw Bradford Town Youth’s promotion hopes come off the rails, however an 8-0 victory on the road at Trowbridge Wanderers Development saw Mark Jones side get back to winning ways.

After 45 minutes, things weren’t looking that promising as Bradford only led 1-0 via a headed Chris Office goal.

The second half was more convincing as they netted a further seven goals. Chris Office headed in his second before completing his hat-trick for 3-0.

Owen Evans, a Ciaran Taylor free kick, a stunning half turn and volley from Kalum Townsend made it 6-0 before the unfortunate Ben Cowdrey put through his own net. Dexter Chipeni added the eighth.

After back-to-back victories for The Stiffs, Ade Giles returned to take his team into what in days gone by would have been a relegation six-pointer at Zeals FC, who picked up a morale-boosting 5-0 win which moved them into eighth spot and left their opponents rooted to the foot of the table.

Aaron Carter and a first goal for the club from Jordan Lynk gave Zeals a 2-0 half time lead.

Claudio de Lopes, Stephen Wyatt and a second from Carter completed the nap-hand against a Stiffs side who had three goal-bound efforts cleared off the line.
