BRADFORD Town’s unbeaten start to the season ended this weekend as they slipped to a 1-0 away defeat at Willand Rovers in the Toolstation League Premier Division.

The former league leaders slipped to their first defeat of the season when Brett Worbey claimed a 80th minute winner for the hosts.

Fellow Premier Division side Melksham Town made the most of their neighbours’ slip-up as they moved into second place.

Dave Thompson, Luke Ballinger and Jake Hiscock all got on the score sheet as Darren Perrin’s side recorded a 3-0 home win over Buckland Athletic.

In the First Division, it was Devizes Town who were the weekend’s big winners as they beat Ashton and Blackwell United 8-2.

Rob Mitchell weighed in with a hat-trick, while Jack Hopper collected four to add to Luke Jenks’ solitary effort.

Despite goals from Ben Bring and Lewis Russell, Corsham Town were unable to claim a victory against Bishops Lydeard as they were held to a 2-2 draw.

Corsham had gone into the second half in the lead, but were denied by Charlie Wilson’s 90th minute equaliser which ensured the points were shared.

Warminster Town were able to get their fifth win of the season as they overcame Almondsbury UWE at home in a 2-1 victory.

Westbury United endured a 5-3 defeat to Wellington, with the latter rushing into a 3-0 lead before Sean Brereton got the ball rolling for the visitors.

Brereton and Jamie Jordan hit back for James Goddard’s side, but it was Wellington who would push further in front to make the score 5-2, before Brereton added a third for Westbury.

Chippenham Park were taking part in the opening round of the Les Phillips Cup, but they had a weekend to forget after losing 6-2 to Roman Glass St George.

Calne Town were also involved in the Les Phillips Cup, but they were unable to prevent defeat as they lost 3-1 at home to Gillingham Town. Calne’s goal was scored by Stuart Windsor.

In the Sydenhams Division One, Pewsey Vale were beaten 4-0 at home by Totton and Eling, whose goals came from Oliver Dennett, Owen Fee, Richard Hayter and Josh Clark.
