Warminster Town A hosted near-neighbours Zeals looking to make it two wins on the bounce in Division Two and thanks to an injury-time penalty they overturned a 3-1 deficit to claim a 4-3 win.

Drew Eglin gave Warminster the lead on 15 minutes but thanks to Jack Daly’s 25-yard effort just two minutes later and Aaron Carter’s deflected 35th-minute strike they trailed 2-1 at the break.

An own goal from Liam Twitchen early in the second period extended Zeals lead to 3-1.

Warminster’s revival started on 60 minutes when Liam Gibbens pulled a goal back from the penalty spot.

Justin Tugwell made it 3-3 with his 80th minute effort and deep in stoppage time Warminster were awarded another penalty which was calmly converted by Gibbens to give him a second of the afternoon and wrap up the unexpected win for Warminster.

After missing out on a game last weekend, newcomers Bradford Town Youth got their campaign under way when they welcomed Trowbridge Wanderers Development to their base at Holt.

Bradford are expected to be among the title contenders but although they won 4-2 they had to work hard to secure their success.

Louis Woodford scored to give Bradford a first-half advantage and along with George Evans and Dylan Hatt who scored from the penalty spot he added a second to make up Bradford’s quartet.

Dave Gray scored both goals for a Wanderers side who were much improved on their opening day showing when lost 7-1.

Calne Eagles earned a 10-2 win against Melksham Town B with prolific strikers Adam Welch and Mickey Taraskevics bagging nine between them.

Melksham opened the scoring after only five minutes when midfielder Richard Wyatt scored a superb individual goal, but Taraskevics and Welch both netted before the interval.

Sub Owen Peace also netted for Melksham.

The Stiffs hosted Aces FC for whom it was their first outing of the season, but unfortunately for Ade Giles' side they suffered a second loss, going down 4-2.

Goals from Dan Hatcher and Ryan Perry put Aces 2-0 ahead before Adam Stevens scored from the penalty spot to halve the deficit for the Stiffs prior to half time.

Steve Lewin got the Stiffs back on level terms but they were unable to kick on as Cory Ponting regained the lead for Aces and Steve Tuke grabbed a fourth to seal the victory.

Trowbridge Town Amay have got off to a winning start with victory over The Stiffs last weekend, but a week on Bob Arberry’s men were bought back down to earth after they were beaten 5-1 at Three Daggers.

Four goals up at the interval thanks to a double from Scott Walford and a goal each for Mark Young and Matty Morgan, the Daggers lead was extended as Phil Hampson added the fifth.

Trowbridge were rewarded for their second-half efforts when Tony McElhone scored a late consolation.
