MELKSHAM Town A have known for many weeks that their chances of beating Westbury Town to the Division Two title were very slim.

And following their rivals' win over AFC Bradley, the best Barry Holloway’s side can hope for is the runners up spot.

With five matches remaining after their 5-0 win over The Stiffs they are in a good position, but with fixtures against both fellow promotion rivals Calne Eagles and Luxol Reserves (two) on the horizon they won’t be taking anything for granted.

A goal ahead at the interval, Holloway’s men upped their game in the second half scoring four more without reply. Town’s scorers were James Eatough, with a hat-trick, Ollie Gee and Nathan Walker.

A 4-0 victory for Jason Edwards' Westbury Town side at home to AFC Bradley managed by his son-in-law Matt Rusling took them to the brink of being crowned Division Two champions.

With three games remaining, victory next week against Trowbridge Town Reserves will seal what has been a walk in the park for Edwards' men.

The game was goalless at half time but Gary Tugwell soon settled the Town nerves opening the home side's account after the break.

He was joined on the scoresheet in the second half by Substitute Jonathan Hogarth, who came off the bench to score a brace, and by Mark Young who sealed the points for the home side with a fourth.
