CALNE Eagles and Trowbridge Town Reserves got this season’s Spring Cup underway.
With only eight sides participating in this terms competition a semi-final spot was up for grabs when Roy Wenham’s Eagles hosted Ralph McCaldon’s Town side and, having won the league meeting 2-0 just a fortnight ago, the former were favourites to progress.
Things went to form as Eagles claimed a 1-0 success. Calne centre back Ned Edney scored the only goal of the game with a powerful header from a Jake Mizen corner after 25 minutes.
