DEVIZES Town boss Paul Thompson is torn as to whether to stay at Nursteed Road after receiving an offer from Swindon Supermarine.
The player-manager has been offered a goalkeeper's coaching role at the newly promoted Southern League Premier Division outfit.
He will now meet with the Devizes committee tonight to finally decide whether to stay for a second season in charge.
"I am considering the option but if I am honest I just want to play," he said.
"I would have to see what involvement I would have, if I am training the goalkeepers then it would be a step up.
"But I like to get my point of view across and there are enough voices there already."
Thompson had previously said he would leave at the end of the season, but was asked to reconsider by the board, who met on Tuesday to discuss the situation.
"My heart is with the football club," he said. "One day I wake up and feel really enthusiastic and can't wait for the season to start but the next I am asking myself whether I want to put myself through it.
"I still may go into the meeting with doubts and I have to make my decision for the right reasons.
"I am 50/50, I have to be sure I am going to make the right decision. I don't want to get to Christmas and realise I don't want to be here."
With star striker Nick Stanley set to leave, the goalkeeper is also wary of how much rebuilding is needed.
"It is just whether I can come up with the energy and effort," he said.
