Talented youngsters were out to impress Championship scouts in the Mid Wilts Youth and Minor Football League cup finals this weekend.
Bristol City and Southampton talent spotters were out to run the rule over the county's best young players.
Kevin Scott from the Robins and the Saints' Rod Ruddick were impressed with the standard of football on show at Melksham's Conigre Ground.
Ruddick said: "Southampton have an academy in Bath so we need to look for youngsters around here. The plan is to get them when they are seven or eight years old as then we can help them early and develop their future in football.
Southampton's Nathan Dyer and Chelsea's Scott Sinclair both played in the Mid Wilts League for Trowbridge and another possible star of tomorrow was Devizes Town Youth's Brad Hill.
Hill scored five in the 6-2 drubbing of FC Chippenham in the Under 11 final today. Adam Walters got Devizes' other goal as Liam Sutherland scored two consolations for Chippenham.
Manager Darran Walters said: "We have had a good season and the boys have been looking forward to this competition for a long time.
"It was hard work for them but they really enjoyed it."
Defeated manager of FC Chippenham Jamie Moss believed the surroundings of playing at the Conigre affected his team.
"The occasion was nice but it is a shame there is not a pitch that could be smaller for the younger ones. I am very proud, they are a little bit down, but there always has to be a loser."
League chairman Richard Laver praised the players for their sporting spirit. He said: "It has gone exceptionally well, they have all been excellent games, played in the right spirits.
"It is vitally important we have these finals because we have 4,400 kids playing football and I believe we can give them a good grounding for life."
