TOBY Colbourne believes other teams are jealous of Corsham Town's success after yesterday's title victory.
Bideford manager Sean Joyce called Corsham a pub team when the teams met two weeks ago but, after clinching the Toolstation League Premier Division with a 1-0 win over Radstock last night, Colbourne feels it is case of the green eyed monster.
"We are a small village club, with a small band of followers and a players from around the local area who have won the league," he said.
"I can't understand the clubs who have an axe to grind with us. It is probably down to the fact we have beaten them. It is a nice feeling to know everyone is looking at us."
The league title had eluded Colin Bush's men as they have finished runners up, to Bideford last term, for the past two seasons.
Colbourne knows the club and players cannot get any higher than this.
He said: "This is the pinnacle of many of the lads careers. We are a very close bunch who might not get the opportunity again. This was the big one we all wanted."
The 32-goal striker missed a good chance in the first half at the Southbank, dragging wide from Scott Lye's cross, and it made him think it was going to be a hard night.
"When you miss a chance like that you do wonder if it is going to happen for you," he said.
"If we didn't get an early goal the people were going to get agitated but we deserved it, we have been the most consistent team, and the best team, all season."
