PEWSEY Vale claimed a first point of the season in Division One as they held hosts Andover New Street.

Hopes have been high at the club since the return of Adi Holcombe as manager, with two good cup results in the last two weeks The sides were evenly-matched during the first 15 minutes, with very few chances going for either side and Ricky Franklin having the majority of Vale’s best efforts.

Pewsey had a gilt-edged chance to break the deadlock before half-time when they were awarded a penalty but Ryan Banks saw his effort saved.

The visitors finally did get the lead they deserved on the hour when Franklin sent a cross into the box and Adam Field beat the home keeper.

Pewsey’s lead did not last long though, and within a minute, Andover raced down the other end and Harry Lawton levelled the scores.

Neither side was then able to find a winner before the final whistle.
