THE RED mist descended on Royal Wootton Bassett Town as they had two men sent off in their defeat at Binfield on Monday night.
Paul Braithwaite’s Bassett had secured a 4-2 victory at Abingdon United just two days earlier but their hopes of a second successive away win soon came crumbling down as they were beaten 2-0 in Berkshire.
With 29 minutes gone, the hosts’ Jemel Johnson was hauled down by George Drewett, who received his marching orders before Josh Howell to converted from the penalty spot.
Then, despite a smart stop from Curtis Meare, Binfield netted their second as Aaron Rowland nodded home the rebound.
There was still time for Dale Richards to follow Drewett for an early bath as he saw red late on for an off-the-ball incident.
On Saturday, Steve Robertson was the star of the show as he netted his second hat-trick in a row at Abingdon.
The Bassett striker took his tally for the season to 14 goals from eight matches whilst Steve Olhpert also scored.
