LEWIS Taylor’s Pewsey Vale side remain pointless in the Sydenhams League after a 3-2 home defeat to Hythe & Dibden.

Despite first half strikes from Daniel Reynolds and Adam Field to haul the hosts back level, they could not hold on to claim the point.

“We lost but it was a much-improved performance,” said Taylor.

“I was very disappointed we didn’t come out with a point, because I thought we created some good opportunities, but failed to take them.”

Vale are without a game this weekend because of the Pewsey Vale Carnival, which usually sparks a turn in fortunes for Taylor’s side.

“Saturday, September 26, I hope to have a better result, otherwise, as chairman, I might have to sack myself,” joked Taylor.
