HEYTESBURY maintained their winning start to life back in Division One of the Trowbridge Windows-sponsored League after they overcame Hilperton United 2-1.

Hilperton took the lead on nine minutes when Kieron Edwards' half-clearance from a corner fell to Bradley Whitham who thumped the ball home from 20 yards out.

Heytesbury drew level in the 15th minute. Brendan Hind was tripped in the area and Leigh Kennedy dispatched the spot kick to make it one apiece.

They took the lead on 24 minutes, as Hind chipped a delightful ball to Shaun Tarr, who drilled home from eight yards out for what was to be the winner.

Luxol St Andrews remain top of the table by virtue of a better goal difference from Aces FC and Heytesbury.

Ben Hogg’s side ground out a 3-0 victory at Castle Combe that not only maintained their 100 per cent start to the season but means they have yet to concede a goal this term.

Shavon Allen, Zack Manna from the penalty spot and Tom Rooney scored for Luxol with all the goals coming in the first half.

Aces FC followed up their opening day win at Castle Combe with another impressive triumph on the road, a 4-1 victory over Semington Magpies.

Tom Pang and Mike Little again rolled back the years for Aces. Little was upended leading to Pang firing Aces ahead from the penalty spot, Magpies got themselves on level terms before the break, Ash Whittaker scoring to make it 1-1.

A second from Pang saw Aces retake the lead and he had the chance to make it 3-1, but after Little was again fouled in the area he missed the resulting penalty to claim a hat-trick.

The striker wasn’t to be denied as atoned for his miss from the spot and went on to complete a four-timer with two breakaway goals for his side.

The local derby at Leighton Sports Centre, Westbury went the way of hosts White Horse FC, who got the better of rivals Westbury United Reserves thanks to a resounding 7-0 win in the late summer sunshine.

White Horse were second best for the opening 15 minutes and were ran ragged by the youngsters of Westbury.

However once Jordan Gullis broke the deadlock on 16 minutes he also knocked the stuffing out of his opponents who then conceded a hat-trick of headers.

First it was Paul Beavers to head in and then Lewis Potter planted home for 3-0 before a second headed effort for Beavers made it 4-0.

Rob Youens cross came of the bar an onto an unfortunate Westbury defender to give White Horse their 5-0 half-time advantage.

Westbury were a lot better after the break and held out until the 70th minute when another headed effort this time from Pete Ayton made it 6-0.

Jordan Gullis, who opened the scoring, had the final say when he applied the final finish to what was an excellent team move to complete an easy win for Allan Clarke’s side.
