CHIPPENHAM Park slipped were unable to rack up a second successive derby victory as they were bested by in-form county rivals Warminster Town on Tuesday night.

Dave Ferris’ men claimed a 1-0 victory at Corsham Town last week but at Hardenhuish Park, they went down 2-0 as visitors Warminster recorded their third victory in as many games, maintaining their 100 per cent start to the new Toolstation League First Division season.

After some smart build-up play, Charlie Walton fired Warminster into the lead before the second nail in the Park coffin was delivered by midfielder Alex Lapham.

Following their first defeat of the new campaign, Ferris’ side find themselves tenth in the embryonic First Division table.

They go looking to bounce back to winning ways when they play host to Somerset outfit Wellington, who have only played once thus far this season, drawing 1-1 with Cheddar on the opening day of season on August 8.
