SWINDON Spitfires enjoyed a good day at the Wiltshire Women’s & Girls League’s cup finals day at Beversbrook in Calne on Sunday.
They picked up three trophies, the ladies leading the way with a 4-3 success over Marlborough Town, despite goals from Kirsty Miles, Cheryllynne Pattie and Sarah Thomas for the runners-up.
Spitfires also edged Melksham 1-0 to win the U14 Cup and saw off Westbury Youth 5-2 at U12 level, The U16 final between Melksham and Trowbridge Town was a thriller, finishing 3-3 after extra-time with Maddy Brown, Audrey Gunn and Jasmine Hunt scoring for Melksham.
Mia Blazey, Jasmine Harris and Rebecca Fry netted for Trowbridge, but Melksham clinched the silverware 8-7 on penalties.
Ashton Keynes defeated FC Chippenham 5-1 to win the U13 trophy.
Swindon Town manager Mark Cooper presented the trophies.
