AHEAD of the final at Wembley on Sunday, it’s time to look back on some of the key moments and players from an eventful last 10 months at Swindon Town.

Player of the season: Jack Stephens

AFTER impressing in the last few games of the 2013/14 season, re-signing the Southampton defender was an easy decision for Mark Cooper.

Stephens has been the most consistent performer over the entire season and has found a new home as a midfielder, a position he’ll occupy more often in the future.

I would love to see him back at Town for a third spell, but regardless of which division Swindon resides in next season, Jack will be playing on a bigger stage.

Most improved: Ben Gladwin

AFTER an inconsistent start to his Town career, he has settled into life at Swindon, shining in midfield throughout the season, especially over the last few months.

Sometimes he has played as a wing-back out of necessity, but his future should be far away from that position, because it’s not his main strength.

He has superb ability to hit a long-range pass and packs a powerful shot, although he needs to lift his head more to look for a teammate in some situations.

Game of the season: Bristol City (home)

IN November, top of the league Bristol City visited the County Ground. They were unbeaten, but Swindon outplayed their opponents. A superb result and occasion.

Game to forget: Cheltenham 5-0 Town. FA Cup first round.

Signing of the season: Jermaine Hylton (transfer)/Jack Stephens (loan).

Worst signing: Amari’i Bell (loan).

Goal of the season: Ben Gladwin v Sheffield Utd (11/05/15).
