DAVE Ferris thought that his Chippenham Park side deserved more to show for their efforts against Wellington last weekend.
Despite Mark Robinson’s two goals, Ferris’ men were beaten 3-2 in Somerset, with the home side netting their winner from a second half corner.
There was still time for top-scorer Robinson to strike the post with a free-kick late on but Park were condemned to their 16th defeat of the season.
“I can’t say that we deserved to win the game or they deserved to win the game but I think that we deserved something from it,” said Ferris.
“I couldn’t fault the effort from the lads but the first two goals came from mix-ups at the back. We’ve never been the best at defending corners but there was some good movement from their striker for the third one.
“It is disappointing but we’ve still had a good season. We should finish 11th or 12th and we’re now starting to turn our thoughts to next season.”
Park’s penultimate outing of the season sees them take on struggling Roman Glass St George at Hardenhuish Park on Friday evening.
Ferris’ men then bring the curtain down on their campaign with the return clash against Wellington on May 2.
