CHIPPENHAM Park manager Dave Ferris believes the only thing missing from his side's performances is goals.

The Hardenhuish Park outfit fell to a 1-0 defeat to Almondsbury UWE on Tuesday night in Toolstation League First Division.

That loss to the south Gloucestershire side stretched Park's winless run to five matches - their last success came on February 21 against Almondsbury.

But while the results have not been going their way, Ferris feels his players have given him everything.

"The work ethic and performances have been there, I couldn't ask for anything more, well maybe a few goals," Ferris said.

"We have scored one goal in five matches and we have only got one point in that time.

"On Saturday (against Oldland Abbottonians) we probably had 25-30 chances and I would say that more than 50 per cent them were on target, the only thing was that most were straight at the keeper.

"Against Almondsbury it was a game that had 0-0 written all over it.

"We were two sides very evenly matched who tried to play football the right way, but possibly the difference was that Almondsbury maintained their intensity levels longer than we did."

Park are now not in action again until next Saturday when they welcome Ashton and Backwell United to Hardenhuish.

Ferris said: "In one way it is good that we have the weekend off. We have played a lot of games due to our cup run earlier in the season.

"But it allows teams to catch us and given the run that we are on it would be nice to get straight back out there to try and end this run."
