WARMINSTER Town captain Mark Breffit had to be airlifted from his side’s Weymouth Street ground after breaking his leg during yesterday’s game against Corsham Town.

Breffit broke both bones in his right leg above the ankle after a challenge from a Corsham opponent with around 12 minutes of the game remaining.

Referee Jo Stimpson delayed the match for around an hour and sent both sets of players back to the dressing room to defuse any bad feeling before the Wiltshire Air Ambulance arrived to escort Breffit to hospital.

Warminster ran out thumping 6-1 winners against their local rivals in the Toolstation League First Division.
