DEVIZES Town joint-manager Justin Webster was delighted to see his men return to winning ways with a bit of style last weekend.

Webster and Darran Walters’ men had lost five on the trot heading in to Saturday’s trip to Roman Glass St George but they were back adding points to their Toolstation League First Division points tally after Matt Bennett’s swift second half hat-trick.

“We didn’t play that well in the first half but we made a change at half-time and played a lot better after that,” said Webster.

“Just after the hour mark, Matty Bennett scored his hat-trick in about 14 minutes – it was three good through balls and three good finishes.

“It was also great to get the clean sheet too. To be honest, our goalkeeper, Matt Tilley, has been our best player all season so it was good to get that clean sheet for him.”

After last weekend’s win, Devizes have been forced to twiddle their thumbs after Tuesday’s trip to Radstock Town was postponed off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Webster and Walters’ Nursteed Road outfit are also without a league fixture this coming Saturday.
