DEVIZES Town joint-boss Darran Walters was disappointed to see his in-form team fail to take all three points against local rivals Chippenham Park last weekend.

The two sides couldn’t be separated at Nursteed Road and despite Devizes stretching their unbeaten run in the league to six matches, Walters thought his men had the better of proceedings.

“I thought that we were the better side to be honest. I’m a bit disappointed because I think it was two points dropped,” said the Town joint-manager.

“We looked solid at the back and their keeper’s pulled off some really good saves.

“It keeps the unbeaten run going and the confidence is good but I just think that all we’re missing that striker that’s going to score 25-30 goals a season.”

Park chief Dave Ferris praised the performance of on-loan Swindon Town scholar Conor Johns between the sticks.

Ferris said: “Conor has been playing excellently and made some good saves, as did Devizes’ keeper.

“That’s two games without conceding a goal for us. Devizes seem to be on the up, so I’d have accepted a point before the game.”

Devizes host Keynsham Town next weekend whilst Park face a tough trip to league leaders Barnstaple Town.
