CALNE Town failed to find the back of the net for a third successive game as a solitary Tom Batchelor strike was enough to seal victory for Hengrove Athletic last weekend.
The loss was Calne’s seventh in a row in all competitions and boss Simon Gardner conceded his troops need to start making the most of their opportunities.
“We had three or four gilt-edged chances but didn’t take them,” said Gardner.
“In the first half, I thought there was only going to be one winner but after we missed a few chances, Hengrove made the most of it.
“We just need someone to show a bit more quality in front of goal and lady luck to look our way.”
Calne will bid to get back to winning ways at Ashton & Backwell United on Saturday.
