A WEEK after they defeated Division Three’s basement side Zeals FC 7-1, Aces FC visited Jason Carter’s side for the reverse fixture and, as expected, the Bath-based side completed a quick-fire double over the villagers.

On this occasion they went one better claiming an 8-1 success.

Like last week Greg Richardson scored a first-half hat-trick, on his way to a five goal tally. Nick Baldwin and Tom Pang scoring a goal apiece to hand Aces a 5-0 interval lead.

After the break Richardson scored another two that took his tally for the season to 11, eight of which have come in the two games against Zeals and Tom Pang added to his first-half strike that took him to nine in just five outings, but also missed out on a hat-trick when he missed from the penalty spot.

Mike Little, who put four on Zeals a week ago also missed from the spot.

Zeals' consolation came from Shane Rendall who scored a late penalty for the villagers.

With their pitch at the Beeches, Shaw unplayable Melksham Town A were able to find an alternative venue to host Bratton and Barry Holloway’s efforts in getting the match played was rewarded as his Town side, who beat the villagers 8-1 earlier in the season swept to a 9-1 win in the return clash.

Melksham led 3-0 after 45 minutes thanks to goals from James Dark, Dan Moore and Tom Jones. Nick Ridout made it 4-0 and two more goals from Dan Moore to complete his hat-trick took it to 6-0.

Jordan Kirk and Callum Demkiv both scored for Melksham before Luke Mead bagged Bratton’s consolation with his first ever goal.

The scoring was completed for Melksham by Kirk, who claimed his second of the game for a final score of 9-1.

Potterne FC playing in just their fourth league match of the season, Craig Campbell’s side maintained their 100 per cent record after picking up maximum points thanks to an 8-0 success against a Stiffs side who they had already beaten 10-1 back in early September.

A first-half double for Tom Lye and a goal each from Wayne House and Neil Clark gave Potterne a 4-0 lead in a first half that saw the Stiffs Chris Giles miss a penalty.

Tom Lye added a further two in the second half to take his personal tally for the game to four, Neil Clark netted his second of the afternoon and Ben Mason’s single made up the eight.
