TUESDAY evening required patience from the Town faithful, but they were rewarded when, with five minutes left, super-sub Andy Williams scored his sixth goal from the bench this season.

With him scoring on a regular basis this season from the bench, surely Williams’ form deserves a place in the starting XI this Saturday?

I would personally put him straight in the team, Michael Smith and Jon Obika have done well together but they are too similar.

Williams’ pace against a League Two defence in Cheltenham in the FA Cup is a must.

After Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at M K Dons, most of the talk after the game wasn’t about the performance on the pitch, but the comments made off it by goalkeeper Wes Foderingham.

With Foderingham’s contract coming to an end next summer he was asked whether he would sign a new deal.

“I’ve always said I’d like to try and play at the highest level possible so if we get promoted, then that’s another level up. So we’ll look at it if that happens,” he said A fan of any club outside the top flight expects to lose their best players. It’s just the nature of the beast.

I understand he has to do what’s best for him and his career, and when he does move on, I’ll wish him all the best.

But he has to remember that Town gave him his break in the Football League, and took a chance on a young inexperienced keeper in 2011.
