MELKSHAM Town marked their return to action by thrashing Bridport in the Toolstation League Premier Division lasts weekend.

Darren Perrin’s side, who hadn’t been in action for almost a month, ran out 6-2 winners in Dorset.

Gary Higdon and Dan Kovacs both scored braces for Melksham, with debutant Dan Sibley also on target as the hosts also put one into their own net.

In the First Division, Chippenham Park notched up a fifth win on the trot as they ran out 2-1 winners at Wellington.

Mark Robinson hit his 20th goal of the season whilst Phil Baker also got on the scoresheet for Dave Ferris’ side.

Corsham Town recovered from 3-1 down to snatch a 3-3 draw in their thrilling derby clash with Warminster Town whilst Calne Town picked up a fine point on the road as they held promotion-chasers Welton Rovers to a 1-1 stalemate.

But there was disappointment for Devizes Town as they were beaten 3-0 at home by Barnstaple Town.

In the Hellenic League Premier Division, Wootton Bassett Town had an unhappy return to action as they lost 2-0 at Oxford City Nomads whilst in the Sydenhams League Division One, Pewsey Vale were beaten 3-0 at title-challengers Petersfield Town.
