FOOTBALL ROUND-UP: Corsham stun title favourites Bradford

CORSHAM Town pulled off a landmark victory last weekend as they shattered Bradford Town’s unbeaten record in the Toolstation League First Division.
Trevor Rawlings’ Corsham pulled off a 5-3 triumph at Trowbridge Road, inflicting a first league defeat of the season on Paul Shanley’s league leaders and becoming the first side to score more than three times against Bradford this campaign.
Dan King, Jake Hiscocks and Sam Jordan were on target for the hosts but visitors Corsham took the derby spoils thanks to a brace from Booker Woodford and goals from Nick Holton, Jason Henley and Ryan Tyrell.
Elsewhere, Devizes Town notched up their third victory in a row as they ran out comfortable 4-0 winners at Portishead Town.
Mark Barnes, Neil Clark, Tom Price and Antony Hogg were all on target for Justin Webster and Darran Walters’ men.
Mark Dolman and debutant Stuart Windsor both found the net at Calne Town earned a point with a 2-2 draw at Cribbs but there was disappointment for Chippenham Park as they were beaten 3-0 at Almondsbury UWE.
In the Premier Division, there was late heartbreak for Melksham Town as a last-gasp goal condemned them to a 3-2 defeat at Bitton.
Ian Jeffery and Dan Kovacs were on target for Darren Perrin’s side but the home side’s Aysa Corrick popped up with a dramatic late winner.
In the Hellenic League Premier Division, Wootton Bassett Town are celebrating claiming the derby spoils at local rivals Shrivenham.
Levi Cox and Tyler Sheppard got the goals as Jeff Roberts’ side triumphed 2-1 against Shrivvy, who are managed by former Bassett boss Dave Turner.
In Division One West, Malmesbury Victoria put their off-field woes to one side by claiming victory in their first game for just under a month.
Mani Roper netted the only goal of the game as Gareth Davies’ Vics won 1-0 at Old Woodstock Town, notching up their fourth victory of the season.
In the Sydenhams League Division One, Pewsey Vale were unable to close the gap on the top two as they were thrashed 5-2 at home by second-placed Petersfield Town.
Ricky Franklin and Gareth Robb were on target for Lewis Taylor’s men but title-chasers Petersfield ran out comfortable winners at Ball Road.
