WOOTTON Bassett Town picked up a point last weekend as they drew 1-1 with local rivals Highworth Town.

Levi Cox put Jeff Roberts’ men ahead in the second half at the Elms before the home side’s Matty Bennett levelled the scores moments later.

In the Hellenic League Division One West, Gareth Davies’ Malmesbury Victoria went down 2-0 at Shortwood United Reserves.

Meanwhile, Pewsey Vale bounced back from their defeat at the hands of Hythe & Dibden last week to move back up to third in the Sydenhams League Division One.

Lewis Taylor’s men triumphed 3-1 at Amesbury Town last Friday evening, with Ryan Banks, Tom Ritchie and Mark Field grabbing the goals.

In the Toolstation League Premier Division, Melksham Town made it four wins from five as they got back to winning ways against Hallen.

Defender Ryan Bennett and top-scorer Gary Higdon were on target as Darren Perrin’s men won 2-0 at the Conigre.

In Division One, Jason Henley’s goal handed Corsham Town a fine 1-0 victory over promotion-chasing Barnstaple Town but there was disappointment for Devizes Town, who lost 2-1 at Ashton & Backwell United.

Dan Sloan was on target for the visitors whilst Kris Beasley missed from the penalty spot.

There were also defeats for Calne Town, who lost 2-0 at Wells City, and Chippenham Park, who were thrashed 5-1 by second-placed Shepton Mallet.
