Coca Cola League Two
Swindon Town 2 Bury 1
Swindon midfield pair Paul Evans and Michael Pook were injured and suspended respectively, but manager Paul Sturrock welcomed back Aaron Brown and named new loan signing Fulham midfielder Michael Timlin in the starting line up for the game that pitched third placed Town against 9th placed Bury in League Two.
Meanwhile visiting manager Chris Casper chose to start with his own temporary signings of Blackpool striker Matthew Blinkhorn and Hartlepool midfielder Stephen Turnbull on the bench.
After the heavy rain that fell overnight and two inspections the County Ground pitch was passed playable, but it took almost 20 minutes for either team to rise to the challenge that the conditions presented.
Then Bury's Marc Pugh fired through a crowd of players for Swindon keeper Phil Smith to turn the ball around his left hand post. From Paul Scott's resultant corner Thomas Kennedy headed home his second goal of the game to give the visitors the lead.
Town continued to play aimless balls that Bury were always quicker to react to, and the game was half an hour old when new man Timlin played a ball out to Ricky Shakes whose shot was parried by Kasper Schmeichel for Town's best chance so far.
Then just three minutes later, good work from Aaron Brown found Andy Nicholas on the overlap and his cross was blasted home by Christian Roberts from 12 yards to level the scores.
The goal seemed to rejuvenate the Welsh striker who had sometimes appeared disinterested, and the half came to a close when Roberts forced the opposition keeper to block with his feet.
After the break Richie Baker rose unchallenged to head a floated corner just wide for the visitors as again Town started slowly, and the second half was ten minutes old before Roberts fired a shot from distance straight at Schmeichel.
Ten minutes on once more and Timlin and Brown combined nicely to present a chance for Peacock which he couldn't finish, then Roberts struck a 30 yard free kick agonisingly wide of the right hand post.
And it was Robert once more who brought the match to a dramatic climax. As the game entered three minutes of stoppage time, he stormed into the box and fired a cross into the danger area. Caught facing is own goalkeeper, the unfortunate John Fitzgerald stuck the ball past Schmeichel to gift the points to Swindon.
The result lifted Town to second in the able as new manager Paul Sturrock took his winning run to the three consecutive matches since taking the helm.

Toolstation Western League Premier Division
Chard Town v Corsham Town
Colin Bush took his team to sixth from bottom Chard Town today attempting to regain the ground that Corsham had lost the previous weekend.
Despite claiming victory in 14 of their previous 15 matches, Bush' side relinquished top spot in the Toolstation Premier Division to Bridgwater Town last Saturday when the Somerset side triumphed 3-1 over Devizes Town while Corsham played in the FA Vase.
That left Bridgwater and Corsham level on 35 points, but with the Wiltshire side behind on goal difference.
MATCH POSTPONED
Devizes Town v Torrington
What a week ago appeared an easy challenge for Devizes, took on fresh complexion when second from bottom Torrington claimed their first away win of the season at Dawlish Town last Saturday by the impressive margin of 3-0.
That meant Paul Thompson's players needed to make sure they didn't fall victim to another mugging from the side from Devon.
MATCH POSTPONED
Calne Town v Street
Fresh from a 4-0 victory over bottom-placed Bishop Sutton on Tuesday night, Calne Town went into their match with Street in 8th place in the table. The visitors to Bremhill View meanwhile were just one point off the foot of the Toolstation Premier division and another comfortable victory looked possible for Robbie Lardner's team.
MATCH POSTPONED
Bideford v Melksham Town
As the afternoon began, Melksham were 15th on 14 points, and while there was a three- point gap between them and the three clubs immediately below them, they could be forgiven for looking warily at the wrong end of the table.
In contrast, visitors and reigning champions Bideford lay seventh with a 22-point haul, and again had their minds very much focused on the top of the Toolstation Premier Division.
