AFTER a successful season competing at National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) Qualifiers around the country, Calne’s St Mary’s School was represented on all four days of the NSEA Championships at Addington Manor.

St Mary’s riders - Alice Gates, Beatriz, Flo de Selliers and Maddie Gladston - performed well on the first day, finishing sixth out of 34 teams on the opening day.

The school also had teams qualified for the 90/95cm show jumping and the 90/95 JwS competition.

The team of Abbie Cowley, Charka Stout, Lila Bremner and Elizabeth Rutherford just missed out on finishing in the top 10 in both classes, but Bremner, on her second individual ride with Chiddock Spot Check, qualified for the 90/95cm final jump off by finishing in the top 10.

The fences were raised for the final jump off, where Bremner finished third.

In the 1m/1.05m JwS championship, the team of Abbie Cowley, Betsy Harper, Effie Dollar and Bremner all completed a tough course, finishing just outside the top 10.

The last class of the championship was the 1m/1.05m, Bremner ending the weekend in style by winning the class and being crowned the NSEA National champion.
