WILTSHIRE'S equestrian riders completed their dressage tests on the second day of the Olympic eventing competition today.
Kitty King, who is based at Lower Stanton St Quintin near Chippenham, was among those in action on the second day, completing her test on Ceylor LAN with 46.80 penalties.
Marlborough-based New Zealander Jonelle Price, on Faerie Dynamo, was further back in 41st place overall on 49.50 penalties, just behind Canadian rider Rebecca Howard and Riddle Master and just ahead of Baydon-based Brazilian Marcio Jorge, on Lissy Mac Wayer.
The eventing competition continues in Rio tomorrow, with the cross-country section of the competition, followed by the show jumping finale on Tuesday.
Great Britain’s William Fox-Pitt still leads the way, with Stockley-based Frenchman Astier Nicholas and Badgerstown-based New Zealander Sir Mark Todd inside the top 20.
Germany currently lead the team event, ahead of France and Australia, with Great Britain in fourth spot.
New Zealand, who also include Price’s husband Tim in the team, are currently lying sixth.
