WILTSHIRE showjumper Toby Bevins secured his spot in the Dodson & Horrell 1.10m National Amateur Championship after finishing in top spot in the second round at West Wilts Equestrian Centre in Holt.
Bevins, from Chippenham, secured a qualification place for the Championship, which will take place at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool on November 18-22.
Out of the initial starting field, four combinations went through to the jump off after producing a first-round clear, but just two were able to deliver a perfect double clear.
Bevins delivered one of these double clears with his own 15 year-old chestnut gelding Askan Van Overis, taking the win after jumping their second foot-perfect round in just 50.53 seconds.
